Our Uncontested Quantum™ Coil
With years of rigorous testing under the most extreme conditions, our Quantum Coil—featuring a proprietary aluminum alloy exclusive to Lennox—is designed to weather the harshest elements.
Beyond Quiet
This heat pump has been engineered with a variable-capacity compressor which allows it to primarily run in low speed—drastically minimizing the sound of air kicking on or off inside the home. Add in a special sound-dampening system to absorb outdoor noise and you can be assured it operates at a noise level that is, quite simply, unheard of.
Smarter Together
With the help of the iComfort® S30 ultra smart thermostat, the SL25XPV heat pump unlocks a world of connectivity. It stays finely tuned to your home by using sensors to react, diagnose, and troubleshoot—all while remaining in constant contact with your dealer to ensure proactive responses. While you’re away, your thermostat can automatically change the temperature of your home to a more energy-efficient setting through Smart Away™ mode to save energy and money. And the system even responds to the outdoor environment to adjust operation to account for factors like pollen and outdoor air quality.

SL25XPV Heat Pump
AC is great have questions about heating
August 02, 2026Here’s a polished version that keeps your positive comments while clearly explaining the problems you’ve experienced: Overall, we are very impressed with the SL25XPV heat pump, especially as an air conditioner. We live in Manitoba, Canada, where we experience both very hot summers and extremely cold winters. During the summer, this unit has been outstanding. It cools our home efficiently, runs quietly, and has exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately, our experience during the winter has not been as positive. However, we believe these issues are most likely related to the installation rather than the heat pump itself. When the cold weather begins, snow and ice accumulate on the outdoor fan while the unit is not running. When it starts operating again, the fan is covered in ice, causing the entire unit to shake violently and make extremely loud noises. The mounting stand installed by our contractor also vibrates and bounces, making the whole unit shake even more. Before the installation, we asked whether a small roof or protective cover should be installed above the outdoor unit to help keep snow and ice off. We were advised that it wasn’t necessary. Based on our experience, we believe some type of overhead protection could help reduce snow accumulation without restricting airflow. There have been nights when the noise was so loud that it woke us up. It honestly sounded like the outdoor unit was about to run away from our yard. My husband had to go outside in the middle of the night, disconnect the unit, and manually remove the snow and ice from the fan so it could operate properly again. We still believe the SL25XPV is an excellent heat pump and are very happy with its cooling performance. We hope these winter issues can be addressed through improved installation practices and guidance for homeowners in harsh Canadian climates. This version is balanced: it praises the product where it performs well while making it clear that your concerns are primarily about the installation and winter operation in Manitoba.

Great products, installation critical
April 14, 2026Had this heat pump along with EL297 installed Apr 2025 and has been running without problem for a year now. Family has commented that both the heating (we get down to -30C) and cooling (up to 35C) has improved comfort and consistency. We are realizing savings of about 40% both on hydro and gas (had a traditional furnace/AC before). Installation was great and we experimented with heat pump/furnance set points before coming back to what the installer originally recommended. Read lots about issues other are having and think problems are more about installation than the products.

- * Efficiency claim based on comparison of highest Designated Tested Combination SEER of the SL25XPV as compared to the Designated Test Combination SEER of the competitive variable capacity compressor units as published in AHRI (June 2021). Actual system combination efficiency may vary; consult AHRI for exact system efficiencies. Precision claim based on the average cooling capacity range of the SL25XPV as compared to the average cooling capacity range of the competitive variable capacity compressor units based on published competitive data (June 2021). Cooling capacity ranges calculated across 2, 3, 4 and 5 tonnage at maximum and minimum speed at ARI standard rating conditions: 95°F outdoor and 80°/67° indoor (80°F dry bulb and 67°F wet bulb).
Proper sizing and installation of equipment is critical to achieve optimal performance. Split system air conditioners and heat pumps (excluding ductless systems) must be matched with appropriate coil components to meet ENERGY STAR criteria.
